Title 17, Series 3 - Requirements for Licensure as a Psychologist and/or School Psychologist  

Comments and Board Responses to Comments
A brief summary of the proposed rule changes are:                        
a. Make pertinent sections part of the Legislative Rule making process.
 
b. Update wording in various sections major changes to include:

  1. Define core coursework of acceptable psychology degrees (17-3-2.1.)
  2. Define acceptable Master’s degree internship (17-3-5.4.)
  3. Define who can be a psychometrician and degree requirements for same (17-3-8.2.b.)
  4. Supervision Contract (17.3.8.5)
  5. Update the Standards for Supervision (17-3-9.)
  6. Series 2 procedures for consideration of applications on the basis of ABEPP certification and reciprocity (17-3-12.)
  7. Set procedures for processing applications requiring written and oral examinations (17-3-13.)
  8. Establish the time limit to take and pass the examination to 2 years for all candidates (17-3-14.)
  9. Set notification guidelines (17-3-15.)
  10. Update wording regarding school psychologists.
  11. Update wording in proposed (17-3-17) regarding supervision requirements for school psychologist applicants.
  12. Establish Temporary Permit timelines (17-3-19.)
  13. Clarify renewal rules (17-3-20. )
  14. Update continuing education requirements (17-3-21.3.)
  15. Define the specific psychological tests that are exclusively conducted, administered, and interpreted by licensed psychologists and licensed school psychologists.
